European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

If you have an EHIC sessions can be fully reimbursed. Psycheheel can send the invoice directly to the Insurance. What I need from you is a copy of your EHIC and a reverral from your GP  for BG- GGZ. Treatment costs and structure is just like the reimbursed care for the Dutch, as you can read below and will be reimbursed 100%.

Reimbursed care by the Dutch basic health insurance

If your doctor (GP) suspects a certain a diagnosis (such as an anxiety disorder or depression), he will refer you. This referral letter makes reimbursement of your treatment by the health insurer possible. If a (BIG registered) psychologist in the intake phase actually establishes such a diagnosis, the care will be reimbursed. Whether there is a diagnosis depends on the nature and seriousness of your complaints.

With a referral and a certain DSM-V diagnosis, the treatment of Psycheheal is 100% reimbursed by certain refund policies (in Dutch 'restitutiepolis'). A large part of the costs will also be reimbursed if you have an in-kind policy.  The percentage of the treatment costs covered by a policy in kind differs per health insurer.

 

NB Ask your insurancecompany how much they cover and if they have to give permission before you start the therapy!

The reason not all costs are reimbursed is that Psycheheal offers contract-free treatment within the basic generalist mental healthcare (BG-GGZ). ​There are various reasons for this; for those who are interested, this is clearly stated at:

These times are the minutes you see the therapist. The indirect time - writing in your file and preparing sessions etc- is included. Normally an intakes takes an hour and sessions normally take 45 minutes, except EMDR which often takes 90 minutes.

Note 1: Be aware that you always have to pay your excess (in Dutch 'eigen risico') first before any reimbursement is made by the health insurer.

Tip: You can ask your insurance company to spread these costs year round.

Note 2: Some health insurers request authorisation prior to treatment from a non-contracted care provider. They do not ask for this if it concerns a refund policy. Ask your health insurer about this. 

Tip: At the end of the year it is time to take a close look at your health insurance policy and to look at your policy conditions. Before the end of the year you can switch to another insurer or take out a refund policy so that you can choose your own care provider and be sure that you will be reimbursed for everything. It is good to know that not only psychologists, but also medical care providers increasingly decide to work contract-free. 

 

Non European cliënts 

AON Student Insurance

If you're an non-european international student and you have the AON Student Insurance recommended by the Hanze or RuG, in most cases you will have coverage for 9 sessions without excess. This means that the treatment of up to 9 sessions can be fully reimbursed. 
Note: You must obtain permission from the insurance before starting the treatment, with a referral from a doctor or psychologist (treatment plan). Psycheheel will send the bill to you personally. You can sent it to your inurance company. 

NB If you have a basic health insurance through Aon, the reimbursement is no different than the other Dutch health insurers

Other 

Check with your insurance company beforehand, what how and if they reimburse treatment. Psycheheel will send the bill to you personally. You can sent it to your inurance company. You will need a referral letter from your general practitioner (GP) anyways to get it insured.

In 2019 the Netherlands have treaty with the following Non EU countries, which means Insurance works just like the EHIC (see the text above) : Australië; Bosnië-Herzegovina; Kaapverdië; Noord-Macedonië; Montenegro; Servië; Tunesië; Turkije; Zwitserland

Coaching and treatment diagnosis-free

As a private individual or as an independent entrepreneur, you can in some cases get reimbursed for a coaching course.
As an employee you sometimes have a training budget through your employer, which could includes coaching as a personal development. The Gatekeeper Improvement Act makes it possible, after consultation with a company doctor, to have the costs of coaching reimbursed by the employer in order to prevent long-term absenteeism due to illness and burn-out. Ask the company doctor or the occupational health and safety service if you are currently on disability. 

In some cases, the Belastingdienst (Internal revenue service) may also reimburse a coaching program. As a private individual you can deduct the costs as training costs if the trajectory is aimed at changing your career/function or you help to develop or improve knowledge and skills that are necessary to obtain income from work. As a self-employed entrepreneur coaching is tax-deductible as business expenses when the coaching trajectory is necessary to develop yourself as an entrepreneur. 
If you receive a benefit (uitkering), coaching can in some cases be (partially) compensated by the UWV, when a budget is made available for recovery and reintegration. For more information, please visit the website of the UWV or ask your contact person at the UWV.

No show

When you don't show up for a session or are not able to cancel your appointment more then 24 hours in advance Psycheheel has to bill you for the costs, since  the insurancecompanies don't cover these costs. Standard rate for a no show is € 100.  So make sure you cancel in time and keep track of our appointments!
